Man U News: Congratulation Luke Shaw call back to England squard ahead of Spain and Switzerland match

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw earns England recall ahead of Spain and Switzerland fixtures

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has earned an England recall ahead of the upcoming fixtures against Spain and Switzerland.

Liverpool’s Adam Lallana and Burnley’s James Tarkowski, who were on Gareth Southgate’s World Cup standby list, also return to the fold. Shaw’s presence completes a remarkable turnaround which has seen him establish his position as Jose Mourinho’s first choice left-back, sparking reports he is set to earn a new long-term contract.

Shaw you are good i really admire your style of football

The 23-year-old last represented his country in March 2017, as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 friendly defeat by Germany.

Speaking after Monday’s 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Jose Mourinho, who has been openly critical of Shaw in the past, said: ‘I was particularly pleased, I was telling him, ‘You cannot play better than you did’. ‘So of course the kid has to be upset with the result. ‘But the kid has to know that he had three very good matches in the Premier League and today he was very, very good.
I am happy to play for my Country says Shaw
I am very, very happy with him.’ Shaw’s United team-mate Ashley Young, who helped England reach the World Cup semi-finals, has been left out of the squad, as has the injured Phil Jones. Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy has been called up to replace the injured Nick Pope, joining Everton’s Jordan Pickford and Stoke’s Jack Butland as one of three goalkeepers.
