Most Seen: Chelsea rate players performance so far see how Hazard, Kante, Morata & Willian are rated
Kepa Arrizabalaga
The world record has had a pretty
easy start to life at Chelsea and hasn't been tested too much so far. However,
he maybe should have done better with Henrikh Mkhitaryan's goal, while Joselu
scored at his near post as well.
However,
bigger tests are going to come his way and we'll certainly find out more about
him in the coming games. 5
Cesar
Azpilicueta
Consistent once again and trying to
adapt once again to becoming a right-back after his stint in Antonio Conte's
side. A more defensive option at right-back, however he has got another assist
for Alvaro Morata.
The one
thing that the Spaniard will be looking to improve on is his crossing and he
will also be hoping he is named as permanent club captain. 7
Marcos
Alonso
Has had an outstanding start to the
season, especially going forward, and has really shone playing in the left-back
role after playing wing-back last season.
One
goal, two assists plus winning penalties against Huddersfield and Newcastle
goes to show just how important he has been and has excelled under Sarri. 9
Antonio
Rudiger
Has been very solid at the back with
good pace and using the ball well also, looking to play further forward and
being more incisive with his passing.
Looks to
be settling in well under Sarri and with a high line he has the pace to recover
well. A couple of chances from corners that he has been unable to get on target
as yet. 7
David
Luiz
Out of all of the players in the
squad he seems to have struggled the most. On the ball he has been great, with
some excellent balls over the top and finding the wingers on each flank to
spread the play.
However,
defensively he seems to be not quite at the races and his lack of pace meant
that he has struggled at times and a few poor decisions have put Chelsea in
some difficult positions. 4
Jorginho
Has settled into Premier League life
perfectly and has become the pass master of the side with more than 400 passes
already to his name from the four matches to date.
Maybe
not as good a tackler as Kante is, however he sets the tempo of the team and
has been crucial for Sarri implementing his style of play at the Blues. 8
Mateo
Kovacic
Two starts and one substitute
appearance for the Blues so far and it seems that they have got an impressive
player in the Thibaut Courtois deal for the campaign.
Neat and
tidy on the ball and seems to work hard, however probably just needs to add a
bit more attacking threat to what we have seen so far. 7
N'Golo
Kante
Playing a completely new role under
Sarri to one that he has played in the past, but at the moment he appears to be
adapting to it well and he has the engine to be the complete boxt-to-box
midfielder.
The
creative side of his game might still need to come on, but once again the World
Cup winner has been vital to the way that the Blues have started the
season. 8
Ross
Barkley
Had a decent pre-season and also a
decent start to the season, so it seemed a little harsh that he lost his place
to Kovacic after just two games in.
However,
Barkley might have to see himself back on the bench for a while or take his
chances for the Blues in the Carabao Cup and Europa League. 6
Ruben
Loftus-Cheek
Not the start that Loftus-Cheek would
have wanted in the Premier League as he has not made a start and has just come
off the bench twice so far.
While
his appearances have been encouraging, you wonder where his immediate future
lies in the league and it hasn't seen the game time that he needs right
now. 5
Pedro
You might have thought it wouldn't be
his year, however nothing could be further from the truth with Pedro being the
standout winger so far with three goals to his name in four games.
His
ability on the left foot makes him very useful on the right of the three up top
and he has had a fantastic start to the campaign. 9
Willian
Just the one assist for the Brazilian
so far and you would have to say that at the moment Pedro and Eden Hazard
should be the two starting wingers.
He has
not quite hit the heights of much of last season, but he remains a pretty
useful man to have around and is settling under Sarri well. 6
Took a couple of games for him to get
his first start, however he is showing just how big it really was for Chelsea
to keep him this summer and not let him head to Real Madrid.
In
Sarri's style, if you give him the ball enough times he will eventually make
something happen and he is really starting to hit his stride in the
season. 8
Victor
Moses
Victor Moses might not be seeing much
game time at all in the Premier League this season with a switch of formation
meaning that he is seen as just a winger, rather than a wing-back.
That
means he is struggling behind some of the best players in the side and he has
just one substitute appearance to his name so far. 4
Alvaro
Morata
Many Blues fans would have been
hoping that his goal against Arsenal might have opened the floodgates for
Alvaro Morata, but so far that doesn't seem to be the case.
The
Spaniard is still struggling somewhat and he needs a good international break
and some confidence again to get firing for the rest of the season. 5
Olivier
Giroud
There were some doubts over whether
or not Giroud would fit into Sarri's system, but the win over Bournemouth
proved why he can play another key role.
He will
want to be a starter, but coming off the bench so far he has been a real
handful for defenders and useful for Sarri to mix things up. 6
