OMG: See Reason why Guardiola wan's table toppers Chelsea & Liverpool that the real season is yet to Start
Pep Guardiola insists the real season is yet to start after
Manchester City dropped the first points of their campaign against Wolves.
Liverpool and Chelsea were able to put some distance between
themselves and the defending Premier League champions as a result of the Wolves
draw, but Guardiola is unconcerned by the early set-back. City set a record for
total points in a title-winning season last campaign, and are the favourites to
lift the trophy for a second year running.
Liverpool fans in particular are excited about what the
campaign could hold, but Guardiola claims the real work has yet to start.
‘After one day off we’re going to prepare for the game against Newcastle and
then the international break,’ he said.
‘And after we come back from the
international break the real season starts, in terms of games, games, games.
‘We know how difficult it will be – you can imagine against Newcastle and Rafa
Benitez it will be tough.
‘They’re well-organised defensively and we have one
week to prepare. ‘We won a point or dropped two or whatever but it’s part of
the competition.
