Most Read: Chelsea Starlet Abraham reveal the advice he takes from Brazil legend Ronaldo
Tammy Abraham has thanked Brazilian icon Ronaldo for passing on some ‘wise
words’ ahead of what could be a big season for the youngster at Chelsea.
Abraham, 20, is hoping to break into Maurizio Sarri’s first-team
plans after returning from a loan spell at Swansea where he scored five Premier
League goals across the 2017/18 campaign.
Tottenham attempted to sign Abraham
in the final hours of the summer transfer window, lodging a £25million bid for
the striker on deadline day, but Chelsea were determined to keep hold of the
England international.
With Oliver Giroud and Alvaro Morata the only other recognised
centre forwards at Stamford Bridge, there’s a feeling that Abraham could be
handed regular playing time under Sarri this term.
Abraham has plenty of
experienced heads to learn from in Sarri’s star-studded squad, but it was a
conversation with legendary Brazil striker Ronaldo that caught the attention of
many fans.
‘Thanks for your wise words I feel truly blessed,’ Abraham posted on Instagram with a screenshot of a FaceTime conversation he had with Ronaldo.
Nottingham Forest have been eyeing a potential loan move for Abraham but Sarri is keen on keeping the Englishman until January.
‘It’s up to him if he wants to
remain here,’ the Italian said when asked about Forest’s interest. ‘We are very
happy with him, so I think that, until January, he will stay with us. I think.’
